Uran Satybaldiev submits Leon Soares to defend his title at LFA 203

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The LFA kicked off an epic combat sports weekend in Las Vegas with the Light-Heavyweight Championship. In the main event, LFA light-heavyweight world champion Uran “Gorilla” Satybaldiev and top contender Leon “Ogro” Soares threw down in an instant classic. Eventually, the champion from Kyrgyzstan overwhelmed the Brazilian challenger on the ground and defended his title successfully via submission 20-seconds into the third round. In the co-main event, Tajik-Russian Bellator veteran Sharaf Davlatmurodov defeated LFA veteran Christiano Frohlich via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28). In the feature fight, 10x IBJJF jiu-jitsu world champion Bia Mesquita was well on her way to her fourth consecutive submission victory since turning pro last summer. The woman known as the “BJJ Lady GOAT” still earned the victory, but it came by way of disqualification after her opponent Hope Chase threw an illegal upkick out of frustration after being out-grappled through the first round and a half.
