LAS VEGAS, Nevada — LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that the promotion will return to Kentucky on the second Friday in June. LFA 210 will feature a featherweight showdown when the promotion returns to the Bluegrass State. This will be the third LFA event to take place in the state and its second event to be hosted in the state’s most populous city of Louisville.
LFA 210: Lawrence vs. Lima, presented by MONSTER ENERGY, takes place Friday, June 13th at Freedom Hall at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The main event will feature a featherweight showdown between top prospects Lance “The Tornado” Lawrence and Willian “Malvadeza” Lima. The entire main card will be available worldwide on UFC FIGHT PASS® at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.
Tickets for LFA 210: Lawrence vs. Lima are available now for purchase through Ticketmaster.com.
“We are excited to bring the LFA back to Louisville, Kentucky at LFA 210,” stated Soares. “We made our first trip to Louisville last year and we are thrilled to return to Kentucky’s biggest city this summer. Louisville is the home of Muhammad Ali and has a long history and appreciation for combat sports. This was on full display last year with the UFC hosting an event in Louisville just two months after our successful debut in the city. We will now add to that history with another fight card stacked with top international, national, and regional talent. The main event features Louisville’s own Lance Lawrence, who is the top prospect in the state and a veteran of Dana White’s Contender Series. He will face Willian Lima, who is one of the top MMA prospects from Brazil. There will be a lot at stake when they meet in the main event of LFA 210.”
Lawrence (9-4) is a man that has long been considered one of the top MMA prospects in “The Bluegrass State”. In fact, after beginning his professional MMA career with a perfect 5-0 record, he was invited to compete on the third season of Dana White’s Contender Series in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lawrence would face top undefeated prospect Kevin Syler. The Bolivian hit the scale a whopping 6.5 pounds over the weight limit, but the Kentuckian showed his fighting spirit and took the fight anyway. That gameness has been his calling card in the LFA as well. After going 2-0 in the promotion last year, Lawrence was nominated for three LFA Fans’ Choice Awards: Male Fighter of the Year, Fight of the Year, and Submission of the Year. Now “The Tornado” is ready to bring a whirlwind of excitement back to his hometown of Louisville in the main event of LFA 210.
Lima (12-1-1) is a decorated MMA, Kickboxing, and Sanda fighter that has built his world-class skill set by competing around the globe. The dynamic Brazilian has competed professionally in all three sports throughout South America, Europe, and Asia. In that time, he has competed in Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, and his home country of Brazil. This includes challenging for WGP Kickboxing, which is the biggest kickboxing event in Latin America. Now after more than a decade of competing around the world in multiple disciplines, the proud Catarinense is ready to make his North American debut in MMA. The bout will also serve as the LFA debut for the man known as “Malvadeza”, which means “Evilness” in Portuguese. This is a perfect nickname for the man tasked with playing the spoiler in his opponent’s hometown when they clash in the LFA 210 headliner.
