RIO DE JANEIRO, RJ, Brazil — On Friday, May 2nd, LFA hosted the weigh-in for LFA 183: Cantanhede vs. Guimarães from the Ribalta Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil. The main event will feature a Women’s Strawweight Showdown between top undefeated prospect Naizi “Malvada” Cantanhede (7-0) and international sensation Yasmin Guimarães (7-1).
LFA 183 presented by Esportes da Sorte, will feature veteran MMA commentator Ron Kruck, who will be joined in the booth by top-ranked UFC star Gilbert “Durinho” Burns. The Brazilian-Portuguese commentary team will consist of BJJ black belt Plinio Cruz (Coach of UFC light-heavyweight champion Alex Pereira) and Brazilian MMA analyst Max Soares. They will call the action live inside Complexo Ribalta in Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil. The main card will be available tomorrow night LIVE on UFC FIGHT PASS® at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
Leno Rodrigo failed to make his contracted weight when he stepped on the scale. He then declined to proceed with the bout, which resulted in this bout being canceled. Icaro Brito accepted an offer to compete on Dana White’s Contender Series. His opponent Caionã Batista then weighed-in as a backup for LFA 183. Their bout has also been canceled. LFA 183 will proceed with twelve bouts, which includes the women’s strawweight showdown at the top of the card.
