LAS VEGAS, Nevada — LFA CEO Ed Soares announced that eleven fights will take place at LFA 198 next month, when the promotion hosts its year-end event in Southern California with a fight card stacked with two title fights, international stars, and top local talent. The event will kick off an action-packed fight weekend with UFC 310 taking place the following night. LFA 198 will be the twentieth LFA event to take place in the Golden State.

LFA 198: Johns vs. Douglas, presented by Monster Energy, takes place Friday, December 6th at The Commerce Casino & Hotel in Commerce, California, which is located in southeast Los Angeles County. The main event will feature a featherweight title unification bout when champion Elijah “Baby” Johns faces interim champion Lerryan “Dougie” Douglas. The co-main event will feature a lightweight title fight when champion Richie “Savage” Lewis defends his title against top contender Richie “El Machete” Miranda. The entire main card will be available worldwide on UFC FIGHT PASS® at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.

“We are excited to bring a Championship Doubleheader to Southern California at LFA 198,” stated Soares. “The main event will see the fourth title unification bout in LFA history when LFA featherweight champion Elijah Johns battles LFA interim featherweight champion Lerryan Duglas. This is one of the most highly-anticipated fights in LFA history as they are the top two featherweights in the world currently fighting outside the UFC. Then in the co-main event, the LFA lightweight title will be on the line when undefeated champion Richie Lewis defends his title for the first time against top contender Richie Miranda. These two world title fights are the perfect way to end another incredible year of fights in the LFA!”

Tickets for LFA 198: Johns vs. Douglas are available for purchase through LFATIX.com.

LFA 198 will feature a total of eleven fights, which includes the return of “The BJJ Lady GOAT” Bia Mesquita. She will be in action prior to the previously announced Championship Doubleheader.

Mesquita (2-0) returns to the LFA Octagon after making the most highly-anticipated American soil debut of an MMA prospect in 2024. The Brazilian phenom began training Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 5. By the time she was 10, she had won the Brazilian National Junior Championships, three State Championships, and several other major tournaments. After receiving her black belt from Jiu-Jitsu legend Leticia Ribeiro thirteen years ago, Mesquita would embark on a black belt career that would earn her the nickname “BJJ Lady GOAT (Greatest Of All Time)” as she is now a member of the Guinness World Records and International Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) Hall of Fame. She accomplished this by becoming the only person to win 10 gold medals, which is the record for the most IBJJF World Championship titles at the black belt level.

Mesquita made the switch to MMA earlier this year with her LFA and American soil debut coming a few months later at LFA 194 in Niagara Falls, New York. She quickly showed off her world-class grappling chops by submitting Shannel Butler via Rear Naked Choke in the first round of their bout. Mesquita is now eager to compete in MMA for the first time in front of many of her students and teammates in Southern California. She will face a fellow credentialed Brazilian fighter in Fernanda Araujo. Known by her nickname “Ferocious”, Araujo is a Judo black belt, Karate black belt, Jiu-Jitsu brown belt, and a 6-fight veteran in MMA. Mesquita and Araujo will fight in the featured bout at LFA 198.
