By the Numbers: LFA in 2024

Revered globally as the industry leader for mixed martial arts talent development, LFA concluded its eighth calendar year as a promotion at the close of LFA 198 on December 6th 2024. Holding 25 stellar events in 330 days, LFA proudly remains one of the most active MMA promotions.

 

As 2025 rapidly approaches, LFA provides a numerical summary of the previous 12 months…

 

The Bouts

 

LFA held 274 professional bouts and 21 amateur bouts in 2024. Of the 295 total bouts contested in 2024, 115 bouts ended via KO/TKO, 66 bouts ended via submission, and 2 bouts ended via disqualification. 110 LFA bouts went the distance in 2024, with 96 unanimous decisions, 13 split decisions, and 1 majority decision. 2 LFA bouts were deemed no contests in 2024.

 

Shad Walters and Micaias Ureña shared the fastest LFA victory of 2024 – both athletes obtained knockout victories in 11 seconds (at LFA 182 and LFA 189 respectively). Guilherme Uriel achieved the fastest LFA submission of 2024, winning his LFA 187 bout via Guillotine Choke in 29 seconds.

 

The Promotional Records

 

The best promotional record by an individual athlete in 2024 is 3-0, a record achieved by 9 professional athletes: Aieza Bertolso, Alik Lorenz, Alvin Hines, Beatriz Consuli, Chance Ikei, Cheyanne Bowers, Gabriela Fujimoto, Luis Francischinelli, and Richie Miranda. Only Alik Lorenz, Cheyanne Bowers, and Luis Francischinelli finished all three bouts inside the distance, with Luis Francischinelli the only athlete to win all 3 bouts inside the first round.

 

The best promotional record by an amateur athlete in 2024 is 2-0, achieved by two athletes – Ezayah Gomez Oropeza and Paul Marghitas. Only Ezayah Gomez Oropeza finished both bouts inside the distance, with both bouts ending in the first round.

 

The Athlete Statistics

 

Richie Miranda threw the most strikes in 2024, with a combined total of 430 strikes thrown. Natasha Kuziutina, however, landed the highest number of strikes, with a combined total of 232 strikes landed.

 

Of the athletes who competed for at least 15 minutes in 2024, Alvin Hines had the highest striking output (18.4 strikes thrown per minute); Ben Bennett, however, produced the highest intensity of landed strikes (11.6 strikes landed per minute).

 

With 11 takedowns landed, Elijah Johns achieved the highest number of takedowns in 2024. Natasha Kuziutina and Sierra Dinwoodie shared the highest number of submission attempts in 2024, with 5 submission attempts each.

 

Natasha Kuziutina had the highest total fight time of 2024 (combined total of 50 minutes).

 

The Championships

 

LFA held 17 Championship bouts in 2024. The welterweight division featured the most LFA Championship bouts, with 3 LFA Championships contested at 170lbs (2 of which were for the Interim Welterweight Championship). 4 athletes competed in more than 1 LFA Championship bout in 2024, as Kegan Gennrich, Shamidkhan Magomedov, Igor Siqueira and Natasha Kuziutina each competed in 2 LFA Championship bouts respectively. Only Shamidkhan Magomedov and Natasha Kuziutina won both of their respective Championship contests. Shamidkhan Magomedov is the only athlete to win 2 LFA Championship bouts inside the distance in 2024, with both victories obtained via KO/TKO in the first round. Igor Siqueira holds the fastest LFA Championship victory of 2024, having secured the Interim LFA Flyweight Championship via knockout in just 67 seconds at LFA 181.

 

The Events

 

LFA 187 and LFA 193 featured the most bouts contested on a single card in 2024, with both events holding 15 bouts respectively. LFA 191 witnessed the most victories via KO/TKO in a single event, with 8 bouts ending via KO/TKO. The most submission victories in a single event occurred at LFA 193, with 6 contests ending via submission; LFA 190 was the only event in 2024 to not feature a victory via submission. LFA 185, LFA 187 and LFA 188 each featured the highest number of bouts to go the distance on a single card, with all 3 events seeing 7 contests go to decision. In contrast, LFA 179 featured the lowest number of bouts to go the distance, with only 1 contest requiring the judges’ scorecards. LFA 175 witnessed the most split decisions in a single event, with 3 bouts ending via split decision.

 

The Prelims

 

Aired exclusively on YouTube, the Early Prelims of LFA 183 were the most viewed Prelims of 2024, with 38,440 views on LFA’s English commentary YouTube channel “LFA Fights” at the time of writing (December 27th 2024). The Early Prelims of LFA 183, contested in Rio de Janeiro’s Complexo Ribalta, featured 3 bouts: Leidiane Fernandes vs Djulia Ariana, Beatriz Consuli vs Patrícia Batista, and Gabriela Fujimoto vs Claudia Alves. The Prelims of LFA 198 were closely behind as the second most viewed Prelims of 2024, with 38,095 views on LFA’s English commentary YouTube channel “LFA Fights” at the time of writing (December 27th 2024). Hosted at The Commerce Casino & Hotel in Commerce, California, the Prelims of LFA 198 also featured 3 bouts: Aline David vs Charlotte Craig, Mariana Piccolo vs Elizabeth Rodríguez, and James Romero vs Jake Woodley.

 

The Hosts

 

LFA held 19 events in the United States and 6 events in Brazil in 2024, hosted across 14 venues. Ginásio do Povilho in Cajamar, São Paulo was the most visited venue, having hosted 4 LFA events. The Commerce Casino & Hotel (Commerce, California) and Mystic Lake Casino Hotel (Prior Lake, Minnesota) each hosted 3 LFA events. 2 LFA events were held at The Arizona Financial Theatre (Phoenix, Arizona) and Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino (Niagara Falls, New York) respectively. Arena 1 at Parque Olímpico (Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro), Broadbent Arena (Louisville, Kentucky), Complexo Ribalta (Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro), Dobson Arena (Vail, Colorado), Gila River Resorts & Casinos – Wild Horse Pass (Chandler, Arizona), Horseshoe Hammond Casino (Hammond, Indiana), Magness Arena (Denver, Colorado), Sanford Pentagon (Sioux Falls, South Dakota), and Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino (Salamanca, New York) each hosted 1 LFA event.
