HAMMOND, Indiana — In Chicagoland, the LFA saw the lightweight title change hands for the second time in 5 months. In the main event, Richie “Savage” Lewis dethroned the reigning champion “Machine Gun” Kegan Gennrich via Unanimous Decision (48-47, 50-45, 50-45). The top undefeated prospect and U23 World Wrestling Champion dominated Gennrich by unleashing his signature chain wrestling and ground n’ pound over 25 minutes to dethrone the champion. The original co-main event between LFA interim women’s strawweight champion Natasha “Kuzya” Kuziutina and challenger Bruna Ellen was canceled on the morning of the fight when the champion Kuziutina withdrew with an illness. In the new co-main event, top Chilean prospect Jose “Tiro Loco” Ferreira had a spectacular LFA debut. Ferreira finished top undefeated Brazilian prospect Cassio “Barão” Junior by landing an onslaught of strikes from back control to secure the TKO win at 4:03 of Round 2.
