LEMOORE, California — On Thursday, January 9th, LFA hosted the weigh-in for LFA 199: Farias vs. Visconde from the Tachi Palace Casino Resort in Lemoore, California, which is located 35 minutes south of Fresno. The main event will feature a Featherweight Showdown between between seven-time Jiu-Jitsu world champion Ary Farias and fellow Jiu-Jitsu black belt and LFA standout Erick Visconde. This will be the first fight in LFA history between two fighters who have competed for the LFA on multiple continents.
LFA 199, presented by MONSTER ENERGY, will feature veteran MMA commentator Ron Kruck, who will be joined in the booth by former UFC star and Strikeforce champion Gilbert “El Niño” Melendez. The Brazilian-Portuguese commentary team will consist of Brazilian media personality Tiago Pamplona, who will work alongside UFC star Tainara “Thai Panther” Lisboa. They will call the action live inside the Tachi Palace Casino Resort in Lemoore, California. The main card will be available tomorrow night LIVE on UFC FIGHT PASS® at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.
Every fighter except Esmira Mammadova and Jermaine Edwards made their contracted weight when they stepped on the scale. Mammadova and Edwards will pay a penalty to their opponents. LFA 199 will proceed with twelve bouts, which includes the Featherweight Showdown at the top of the card.
